Abstract
This paper provides an overview of the major findings of a larger study (Femicide: the killing of women in Australia 1989-1998) of the intentional killing of adult women. The study analysed data from the National Homicide Monitoring Program, which is based on all cases of homicide identified by Australian State and Territory police services. the data set analysed contains a total of 2821 homicide incidents that occurred between 1 July 1989 and 30 June 1998.
