Abstract
The evidence supporting the relationship between individual and social harms and alcohol consumption is strong. However, understanding the relationship between alcohol and violence requires the examination of the complex interaction of the effects of alcohol, the drinking environment, and individual characteristics. This Drug and Alcohol intoxication and Subsequent Harm in night-time Entertainment Districts (DASHED) study examines the drivers, types and prevalence of alcohol and substance-related harms in the entertainment precincts of Canberra and Hobart.
