Abstract
This paper presents an overview of research currently being conducted by staff within the Australian Institute of Criminology. It also provides an outline of future research initiatives and a summary of work conducted over the past ten years. The research activity of the Institute falls within the following ten major program areas: criminal justice statistics, policing/public security, courts and sentencing, penal policy/corrections, Aborigines and criminal justice, violence against women and children, corporate crime, juvenile justice, victimology, and special research topics.
