Abstract

The chapters in this book are based on papers presented at the Second National Conference on Violence convened by the Australian Institute of Criminology in Canberra, June 1993. They encompass the following issues: the role of the law and police in domestic violence; young people and violence; racist violence; child abuse; masculinity and the role of men in preventing violence; alcohol and violence; firearms; suicide; and policy and prevention issues.
