Armed robbery from an offender's perspective: implications for prevention

Abstract

Criminals were interviewed for this study to obtain information on the following aspects: their modus operandi; their assessment of security arrangements; the likelihood of crime being shifted to other areas; their progression in crime; their attitudes to staff, customers, hostages; and their reaction to punishment and penalties.
