Abstract

Senior administrators in charge of prisons and other correctional institutions in the Asia Pacific region come together to discuss various matters relating to prison administration. This is the eighth Asian and Pacific Conference of Correctional Administrators. Agenda items covered within the conference include counter measures to overcrowding in prisons; prisoner work release; effective links between the prison industry and the private sector; impact on prison management of external monitoring; regional co-operation for the training of prison officers; and the role and activities of UNAFEI.
