NSW Inspector of Custodial Services, Dr John Paget this week visited the AIC’s JV Barry Library to donate his personal papers around the establishment of the Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC) facility in the ACT.

The AMC, opened in 2008, is the first Australian corrections facility designed and built to meet human rights obligations around prisoners and juvenile detainees, as well as being environmentally sustainable.

Dr Paget was Director of the ACT Prison Project Office and oversaw the development of this model facility.

He was also CEO of Corrective Services in South Australia and has also been a long-time friend of the AIC.
