3rd national gambling conference

According to figures released this week by the Tasmanian Gaming Commission, Australian gamblers gamble $7,338 per capita.

The Australian Institute of Criminology in conjunction with the Australian Institute for Gambling Research will convene the 3rd National Gambling Conference to examine key regulatory and social issues relating to the gambling industry in Australia. Online gambling will be high on the agenda.

Speakers at the Conference will include Senator Amanda Vanstone (via a video presentation); Dr Peter Grabosky, Australian Institute of Criminology; Gary Banks, Productivity Commission and Professor Jan McMillen, Australian Institute for Gambling Research.

Members of the press are invited to attend.

The 3rd National Gambling Conference will be held at the Rex Hotel, Potts Point, Sydney on 11-12 May 2000
