Vivien Stern will talk about the report she produced for the last UK Labour Government in 2010 on how rape complainants are dealt with by public authorities, the response of the succeeding coalition government to the report and subsequent developments and controversies that have arisen in the debate about rape.

Baroness Stern is a crossbench (independent) member of the UK House of Lords. She has extensive international experience in human rights and criminal justice matters and in 2010 carried out a review for the UK Government on the response of public authorities to those reporting rape (the Stern Review).
