Introduction

This conference explores: the relationship between violence in entertainment and crime in our society; cultural perspectives on violence and crime; creativity and the portrayal of violence in film and computer games; virtual violence and the challenges of new transmission media such as the Internet; policies and practices in the regulation of violent material; reviews of major national research studies; and identification of risk factors.
